44 X 66 X 18 INCHES, RECYCLED ORGAN, MIXED MEDIA
When an electronic organ from the 60s came up for auction and no one was bidding I offered $20 and it was mine. It took a good deal of work to disassemble the organ. I decided to leave parts of the wood unfinished to enhance the raw quality of the repackaging. The linocut hands are a human connection that add a folk element to a sterile piece. The patterns and colors of the inside wiring and electronics are also a prominent feature. The large organ pedals on the left echo the light and dark patterns of the keyboards. I included the diagram which illustrated the manner in which the organ was assembled on the top left to provide a view of it's original state. It proved invaluable when unorganizing the organ.
