ADOLF MCCOY
18 X 12 INCHES, LINOLEUM PRINT

Picture
The tongue in cheek subtitle of this linoleum print is "If Hitler Had A Banjo He Never Would've Started All That Crap." The comedian/banjo player, Steve Martin, once said, "the banjo's such a happy instrument, you just can't sing a depressing song when you're playing the banjo." The Peanuts comic strip below also echos that same happy sentiment. These examples provided inspiration for this print, that and the fact that I am also a banjo player. Some people find this image a bit disturbing, especially the Swastika. The intent was not to make anyone uncomfortable but instead to make them laugh. The wood grain in the paneling resembles flames, adding to the irony.
